My Obsession...
I’m obsessed with understanding what shapes the lives we create – and finding ways to make creating the life we want feel easier.
I believe we have far more influence over our experience than we’ve been taught to believe.
And the deeper I’ve explored it, the more I’ve come back to the same place:
"The quality of our lives is shaped by the quality of our conversations, especially the ones with ourselves."
I Never Intended To Be A Coach
I was trying to understand why the life I had worked so hard to create still didn’t feel the way I thought it would.
Every answer seemed to lead to another question.
The deeper I looked, the more I realized that what I was discovering wasn’t only changing my life; it had the potential to help other people create more intentional, connected, fulfilling lives.

I was trying to understand why I had everything I had worked so hard to create, and it still didn’t feel the way I thought it would.
Each answer revealed another layer, a new question.

I've always seen patterns
That’s simply how my mind works
In school, I excelled in math and science because I could see patterns and find shortcuts. Seeing patterns, relationships, and cause & effect came naturally to me.
I use this to find the shortest route through complexity.
This way of thinking shows up in everything I do.
In business, coaching, learning, and leadership.
Even in my kitchen.
I’ll read five different recipes, recognize what each one gets right, and instinctively combine the strongest parts into something better.
I use this same approach today in my work. I take something that feels complicated and find the underlying pattern, making the path forward feel simpler.
To the outside world My Life looked like success
I built businesses. I led teams. I grew and transformed organizations. But underneath all of it, it didn’t feel like success.
I built businesses. I led teams. I grew and transformed organizations. But underneath all of it, it didn’t feel like success.
I kept asking the same question so many of us ask: Why does success feel so hard?
How can we achieve so much and still feel like it isn’t enough?
Why do we work so hard to create a life and then struggle to actually enjoy it?
The search for those answers began by listening to the conversations I was having with myself.
A moment that brought everything into focus
Walking down a quiet street in the Catalina Foothills of Tucson, AZ, I encountered the last thing I expected or wanted to see: a mountain lion
My heart started racing. Everything in me wanted to run.
Instead, I paused. It felt as if time also paused. In a split second that felt like an eternity, I went through all of my options. Recognizing they were limited, I chose presence. I just stood still.
And as I stood there like a statue in the middle of the street, the mountain lion simply continued on its way.
I watched this incredible animal stroll right past me in all of its majestic beauty before disappearing into the desert.
That moment crystallized something I return to every day…
...There is always a choice
We can react…or become present enough to choose how we respond. Not just in potentially life-threatening situations. But in the moments that are happening all day, every day.
And those moments, big and small, are the moments that shape our lives more than we realize.
It was never really about the mountain lion…
It was about the pause.
Every answer revealed a new question
The deeper I went into understanding what shapes our lives, the more I noticed the same patterns appearing in different places.
Human behavior. Neuroscience. Energy. Leadership. Relationships. Communication.
I kept exploring because every answer helped me understand one part of the experience while revealing another question underneath it.
And eventually, I realized what they were all pointing to:
The stories we tell and the conversations we have continue to shape how we experience our lives.
Every answer revealed another question.
Every question revealed another connection.
And I learned that the story changes when we ask better questions.
What if we are making it harder than it needs to be?
I spent decades asking why success felt so hard. At some point, I paused long enough to ask a different question:
What if I was making it harder than it needed to be?
That question changed the direction of everything. And now, it’s the question I keep coming back to:
What if we are making it harder than it needs to be?
What if we have far more influence over our lives than we’ve been taught to believe?
What if changing the results starts with changing the story?
What if the first story we need to change is the one that says it has to be hard?
It's so much easier to lean into the obstacles when we stop believing it has to be hard.
It's so much easier to lean into the obstacles when we stop believing it has to be hard.
Today, my obsession is exploring ways to make it easier
I bring together the most impactful tools, resources, practices, and experiences I’ve found to help people change the conversations shaping their lives. Perhaps there is meaning in adversity. And I can’t stop asking:
Does it truly have to feel so hard?
What could we achieve, and how good could life feel, if we learned to lean into the joy and excitement of growth instead of getting caught in the discomfort of the new? That’s the question I’m still exploring. And it’s the work I’m most passionate about.
"The quality of our lives is shaped by the quality of the conversations we have...with ourselves, each other, and that which is greater than us."
Which one needs the most attention in your life today? And the Better Question: What will you do about it?
